Melissa Blackwell

Senior Associate //

Duties

Melissa works with Jeff Merritt, representing tenants/buyers and landlords/owners—focusing on, but not limited to, office space. She has a special niche for women-owned businesses and creative businesses that are looking to change the norm. She uses her experience to listen, understand and communicate so she can truly help her clients. She fits right in with RESOURCE’s consultative approach, aligning real estate to business needs, going above and beyond to get the transaction closed. She enjoys the culture, available resources, marketing and people she works with here at RESOURCE.

History

From copiers to cosmeceutical sales to her own division in pharmaceutical sales, Melissa has worked in sales her entire career. Coming from the beauty background, she has plenty of experience helping business owners build a business plan to help them effectively sell and service offerings in the cosmeceutical industry. She loves the owners and relationships she built and she’s proud she got to play a part in helping them build their businesses. Melissa received her bachelor’s in Liberal Arts - Political Science from IUPUI. After college, she moved to Washington DC and lived there for 11 years before moving back to Indiana, where she followed her passion of working in commercial real estate. Melissa is a member of IndyCREW.

Personal

Melissa loves the little-to-no traffic and affordability perks of living in Indianapolis—as well as being closer to her family. On her free time, Melissa can be found traveling or hanging out with friends and family. She loves a good salmon from Ruth’s cafe, Sushi from Tomo—a Japanese restaurant off Keystone or taking her friends to get pizza at Bazzbo’s. On sunny days, she can be found walking Gia and Bianca — her fast and fearless Italian greyhounds — around Broad Ripple. They are super affectionate and have the greatest personalities. She’s passionate about her love of animals and she helps transport greyhounds that are in need of rescuing to rescue facilities.
